Community Safety Day - Dorset
Over the second and third Saturdays of March 2009 members of PC-UK attended Saxon Square, Christchurch, Dorset, to assist Barry SHERWIN, the organiser of the Christchurch Community Safety Event. This event is run be scheme officials and the Dorset Police at Christchurch.
At the beginning of both days the event was opened by the Mayor of Christchurch, who I can confirm is a Car Nut who has been involved in Rallying for quite a while.
The event was open to the public and seemed to get a lot of attention on the day that I went there, probably helped by the fantastic weather we had.
On the first Saturday three vehicles from the club attended with their owners and they are as follows.
- Andy Lawrence in his Met Police P6.
- Adrian Cottle in his Wiltshire Range Rover.
- Alan Clack in his Staffordshire Ford Focus Dog Van, with son and dog.
The following week the attendance was as follows.
- Adrian Cottle in his North Ridings Ford Zephyr.
- Alan Clack in his Staffordshire Ford Focus Dog Van, complete with dog and his son.
- Me with the Thames Valley Vauxhall Omega.
During the second Saturday I decided to try and capture some of the day with video. Here is a link to the Christchurch Video Page.
