Thames Valley Police Open Day 08th August 2015
Attendees:Adrian Cottle, Phil Jacob, Dave Porter, Stuart Exelby and Ron Moore
Phil Jacob with ACC Crime Richard List who was originally a Hampshire Officer.
Phil Jacob decided to bring his Portsmouth Morris Minor dog van on this occasion. Together with his stuffed mutt.
Nice to see a 'Z' car for a change this one being Adrian Cottle's ex Birkenhead Zephyr 6
Supporting the two wheeled brigade was David Porter with his nicely preserved Metropolitan Police BMW 75
The ever present Staffordshire Constabulary Jaguar 240 3.4ltr belonging to Stuart Exelby.
The club also had a small code 3 model display supplied by Ron Moore
So stand and gazeebo all set time for a little wander around the estate to see what else was on display.
This Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) Mitsubishi Shogun Sport seems to have found a home here as I have seen it parked up for the last few years but have no idea why it is actually here.
A couple of Volvo XC70 Armed Response Vehicles were on display both sporting the fact that they are part of the current trend of joint force operations. In this case TVP and Hampshire. These sort of partnerships are springing up all over the country and also applies to Traffic and Dog sections as was evident here at the Open Day.
Two of the combined Dog Unit Vauxhall Zafiras parked up round by the Dog School.
Rural Policing Team also had a couple of vehicles on display including this Mitsubishi L200
On the larger side TVP had this Mounted Branch Mercedes AXOR based Horse Box
One of the participants of the Horse display having a break between show's It was a very warm day so a break under the shade was welcome.
Another specialist vehicle was this Mercedes Benz ATEGO 1823 from the Specialist Search and Rescue Team
Always a highlight of any Open Day a visit by the Helicopter Support Unit now called NPAS
This particular NPAS helicopter is a EUROCOPTER EC135 registration G-TVHB
Vauxhall Vivaro from the support services in this case the Forensic Investigation Unit.
Vauxhall's seem to be popular with the TVP. Another use of the Vivaro this time for the Neighbourhood Policing Team
This time in its Speed Detection Camera vehicle guise.
Finally Trumpton from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Servic were also at the show with some very impressive toys including this Mercedes Benz based Extending Ladder
Really nice day was had by all which was helped by some really warm and sunny weather. Large crowds and lots of visitors to the stand were the bonus.
